She and her husband James Cunningham lived in Ontario around Ottawa (Cummings Bridge) Audrey born April 1914 is their daughter. Audrey lived in Russell, Ontario, on June 1, 1921 census with her parents and brother Jimmy. Audrey married W. SINCLAIR. Audrey and W.'s son Richard was born about 1939 in Ontario. Would love to find this family.

Taken when I was in the paper with my father (Unfortunately not Biological But Was every bit my father in every other way! Dennis raised me from the age of 2 years old and eventually adopted me!! I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have him as my dad xx)
Anyway this photo was taken for a local newspaper I think it was when dad got his black belt in judo! I started judo to follow in his footsteps!!

Upton is probably best known for his book The Jungle. But he was very active politically as well. He even ran for office in California but was never elected.
Time magazine called him "a man with every gift except humor and silence." I don't know about humor but he was involved in plenty of protest throughout his life. I can't find a reference to why he was picketing in 1914, but he is in the white suit with the black armband.
