George was one of four children born to this couple including Ella Jane; Ebert or Elbert C.; Emma E.; and George Kendrick WHITCOMB, all born between 1848 and 1858. George married Ida BRANT or BRYANT (1858-1952) on 17 Mar 1880 in Ripley Co., IN and they had two children including Edward Charles WHITCOMB (1881-1926) and Florence Harriett WHITCOMB HINCHMAN (1883-1969).
