This is my grandfather's oldest sister. She was the daughter of Obediah Marshall and Arra Bell Baker Horner. She was born May 8, 1881 in Brooke County, WV. When she was a child her family moved to Washington County, PA. She married Elmer Hathaway in 1905. They had two children, Gladyce Claire Hathaway and Earl Leroy Hathaway. She was known as "Mae". She moved to OHIO and died there September 20, 1959 in Freeport, Harrison Co., OH.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Rudolph Essick and Leah Humble. She married Edward Perrin Baker abt. 1852 and they had 7 children. Arra Bell, one of their daughters was my great-grandmother.
Albert Ewart and Thelma Gertrude Horner Taylor at their home in 1951. They are the parents of 6 children and ran dairy farms most of their lives. Albert was the son of William Charles and Jessie Dennis-Fife Taylor and was born in Peters Twp., Washington County, PA. Thelma was the daughter of Melvin Edward and Bernice Eliza Sims Horner and was born in Canton Twp., Washington County, PA. They both passed away in Warren, Ohio and are buried at Brush Run Cemetery, Peters Twp., Washington County, PA.
My great-great-grandfather, Edward Perrin Baker. He was married to Elizabeth Essick of same area in PA. His parents were: Thomas Baker and Ann Perrin. He lived in Hopewell Twp. and Independence Twp., Washington County, PA in the 1800's. One of his daughters was Arra Belle Baker Horner, my great-grandmother.
Center back row is my grandmother, Bernice Eliza Sims. She went to school in Moundsville, WV but I don't know what the school name was. Her parents were Newton Gilbert Sims and Ruth Elizabeth Jane White. She had an older brother, William Alexander Sims, born in 1882.
My grandfather. He was born in Wellsburg, Brooke Co., WV to Obediah and Arra Bell Baker Horner. He lived most of his life in the Claysville, Washington County, PA area.

My grandmother, she was born November 4, 1883 in Marshall Co., WV, daughter of Newton Gilbert Sims and Ruth Elizabeth Jane White. She had one brother William Alexander Sims.
She married Melvin Edward Horner on November 4, 1915 in Washington, PA.
They had three children, Bernard, Thelma, my mother, and Ellis Horner.
