This is my wonderful Grandfater Charles "Charlie" I. Keaton He was a Mason.
William V. King is pictured with a horse and saddle he rode in the Civil War which were given to him when he mustered out of the Civil War.
William V. King, son of Lydon and Nancy Hughes King, natives of N. C. married Laura Morrison, native of Henderson Count, N. C. In 1841 William enlisted in the 3rd Brigade of Col. Stephen's division of the Civil War. He was in the battle Jaczwell, Tenn., Bakers Creek, Chickamauga, Resaca, New Hope and the siege of Atlanta. While on detached duty in 1864 he was taken prisoner and held during the rest of the war at Fort Delaware. He is my GGrandfather.

This is Mintha L Watkins, when she was 19 years old. She is the daughter of Thomas & Laura Belle Shepherd Watkins. Mintha is also the mother of my husband Bob Smith. And, may I say, she was a wonderful Mother-in-Law.
This is my husband's (Bob Smith) Grandmother. Laura is the eldest daughter of George and Charlotta Shepherd. Her parents died at an early age leaving Laura to care for her five sisters and brothers. Laura lived to be 107 yrs old. Her daughter Mintha is the mother of my husband Bob.

Smith, given to him by his Grandmother, Laura Belle Shepherd Watkins, and unknown to the rest of the family of the existance of the picture, our daughter Ren'ee ask her Dad to look behind the picture of his Great Grandparents George and Charlotta Shepherd and this picture done in Charcoal was discovered by Bob. John "Jack" Shepherd is his Gr. Gr. Gr. Grandfather and William "Bill" Shepherd is his Gr. Gr. Grandfather
This is my Grandfather on my Mothers (Lois Keaton)side. He was in Florida visiting his son Marlin when he was serving in the Armed Forces during World War II according to my Mom's information.
This is my beautiful young Mom before she married my Dad.
