A photo of William Worth Cramer
This is my paternal great-grandfather, John Wesley Cramer.
This note is attached to the portrait of Barny and Mary Sells Nailor.
This picture belongs to Michael C. Essig. They are his great, great grandparents. There (sic) names are Barny Mary Nailor. From Newville, Penna. (sic)
With Love from Grandma Nell (Dorothy)
~end of transcription~
I believe the name after Nell is Dorothy. Nell may have been a nickname for her.
These are my paternal gr-gr-grandparents. This portrait was found at a flea market in the Southern part of the United States. The person who found it contacted me because I had mentioned that I was a descendant of theirs, on Find A Grave. I then purchased it from the gentleman and currently have it in my possession.
There are a few different ways that their surname has been spelled throughout the years, Nailor, Naylor and a few others. Mary's maiden surname has been spelled as Sells and also Sell.
This picture of Carol Kay Thompson was found in my deceased parents photo album from Portland Oregon. It says that Carol Kay was 14 months at the time of the photo and that she is "Alice's baby" or "Olive baby". This photo might have been taken in the Portland Oregon area or the Lincoln Nebraska area. I'm assuming it was in the 1940's. It appears that the baby has a right on her "ring" finger on her left hand. If you think that you might recognize this photo, please contact me, as this photo does not belong with my family. Thank you.
On the back of this photo my mother had written Harriet Turner, 1948. She was possibly a neighbor of my parents in Portland Oregon.
