They had roots in Eldorado, Oklahoma, and are buried in the Eldorado Cemetery at Eldorado, Jackson County, Oklahoma. They had one son, Lonnie, who is also deceased.

Erwin Woodrow Nunley, born Oct. 1, 1913, in Hearne, Texas, to Adam Nunley and Fannie Dotson Nunley. He was the youngest of the children. One sister died early adulthood and two babies died. There were 10 children in all.

He married Della Brewer and they had one child, a son, when Erwin was 36 years old.

He worked with Gulf Oil Co. in Kermit, Texas, and retired after about 40 years of service.

He retired to Hearne, Texas, and died there with lung cancer. He is buried in Suggs Cemetery, Hearne, Texas.

Obituary:

DUMAS - Jeffie Johnson, 93, died Saturday, April 7, 2007.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morrison Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Korsmo, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Carrington, pastor of United Penetecostal Church. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Jeffie Johnson was born Oct. 12, 1913, in Quanah to Julius and Mary Mollie Seitz. She married Arvil Johnson on Aug. 15, 1937, in Wheeler, and he preceded her in death in 1983. Arvil "Fat Boy" and Jeffie moved to Dumas from Canadian in 1961 and opened Johnson Western Wear and Boot Shop. After school was out each summer, the older grandchildren would come to Dumas and work at the shop and helped with 4-H. They loved having the family with them. Jeffie continued operating the shop until 1997. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had been a member of Bible Baptist Church since 1982, and loved working in her yard.

She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Bobby Johnson, in 1974 and Gary Kent in 1984; two sons-in-law, Lee Roy Kent and Bobby Miller, both in 1995; and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Ferriel Miller of Pampa and Melba Kent and Sharon Truitt and husband Carroll, all of Dumas, Lewis Johnson and wife Nancy of Amarillo and Johnny Johnson of Cummings, GA; 14 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Bible Baptist Church building fund, 222 W. First St., Dumas, TX 79029.

The family will be at 1017 Durrett in Dumas.

This is a picture of my paternal great-grandparents, Julius LaFayette Seitz and Mary Isabel "Mollie" Walker Seitz. Mollie is holding my uncle, William Ernest Seitz. The little boy sitting on the arm of the chair in the sailor outfit is my grandfather, Robert Lee Seitz. The couple had 11 children and Julius LaFayette Seitz had 2 children with his first wife who died in childbirth. The family lived in Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Julius LaFayette was born in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died 19 Nov 1948 and is buried in the Mobeetie Cemetery at Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Mollie was born in Illinois Bend, Montague County, Texas. She died 6 Jan 1957 and is buried in the Mobeetie, Texas, cemetery. Mollie's parents were both dead by the time she was 11 years old. Her mother died when she was 9 years old and her father died 2 years later. She told her grandson, Elbert Lee Seitz, that she lived with people in Colorado after that and could remember hearing the cougars scream at night. My father, Elbert Lee Seitz, lived with them when he went to first grade because he lived out in the country and they lived in town.

Euna Brownlow was born 6/18/1902 in Murchison, Texas, USA. Her family came from Giles County, Tennessee. She married John Gossett of Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas and had 2 children, Willie Jo and Garland. She divorced and married Tom Denton and had 1 daughter, Bobby Blanche. She died on 1/7/1990 in Hospice at Amarillo, Texas. She is buried in Eldorado Cemetery, Eldorado, OK. She had 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. She has 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren as of 2004.

Euna pieced and quilted 80 quilts in her lifetime, giving them to family and friends.

This is my maternal grandmother, Euna Blanche Brownlow. She was photographed because her parents, Edward Isaac and Elizabeth Brownlow, had lost several babies between my grandmother and their surviving children. My grandmother, Euna Blanche Brownlow Denton, lived to be 87 years old, died in Amarillo, Texas, and is buried in Eldorado Cemetery at Eldorado, Jackson County, Oklahoma.

She was one of 24 children of Edward Isaac Brownlow. His first wife died and he then married my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Skipper Brownlow.

Euna Blanche Brownlow married John Luther Gossett at age 17. She had two children with him, Garland Edward Gossett, and my mother, Willie Jo Gossett. They divorced when my grandmother was expecting my mom.

My grandmother then married Thomas Levi Denton of Eldorado, Oklahoma, and they had a daughter, Bobby Blanche Denton.

My grandmother pieced many, many quilts.

She had a granddaughter by her son, Garland, a granddaughter by her daughter, Willie Jo, and 3 grandsons by her daughter, Bobby.

Emery Wesley Nunley is my husband's great-grandfather. In this picture, he was representing the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He lived around Hearne, Texas. He was a Baptist minister, and then became a deacon in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was born in Tennessee and began his ministries in Tennessee. During his ministries, he traveled a great deal and he brought smallpox home and his wife and unborn child died. His wife was 8 months pregnant at the time. He relocated to Hearne, Texas.

This is a group picture of the children of Edward Isaac Brownlow and Elizabeth Elvira Skipper Brownlow's children that survived to adulthood. The couple had 15 children, one set of twins. Edward Isaac Brownlow fathered a total of 24 children with his first wife and my great-grandmother, Elizabeth.

From left to right: Alvis Ruth Rumbo, Mairl Vivien Kirk, Willie Jessamine Gossett, Jack Brownlow (Baptist minister), Euna Brownlow Denton, Guy Edward Brownlow (he lived to be in his 90's and was the last surviving child alive), Oscar Lawrence Brownlow (farmed at Abernathy, Texas, very successfully - died of heart attack at age 60), and Erskin Brownlow.

The family lived in East Texas and then moved to Eldorado, Oklahoma, where they farmed for a number of years.

The parents, Edward Isaac and Elizabeth Brownlow, are buried at Antioch Cemetery, near Eldorado, Jackson County, Oklahoma.

All are now deceased.
