My Hero, Grandpa Razo
My Hero, Grandpa Razo
A photo of my hero, Grandpa Razo, who was assigned to the 161st Infantry Regiment 25th Infantry Division. He was a Pistol Bar Sharp Shooter, Expert marksmanship badge for machine gun, Sharp shooter rifle, Combat Infantry badge, Motor Vehicle Mechanic Badge with bar. This picture was taken in Hawaii at Schofield Barracks, Before the attack on Pearl Harbor. I am very honored to have a grandfather who was so brave along with many other brave men who fought for our freedom. Thank you to all who served our country.
Unknown Army Friend
Unknown Army Friend
I found this picture of this unknown army friend of my grandfather Max Razo, I believe this picture was taken around the same time that my grandfather was in training but not sure of the exact location. If anyone recognize this soldier, I would love to hear from you.
I do know that my grandpa and this guy were friends.

Grandpa Razo is demonstrating his training skills with his rifle. I'm not sure if this is Camp Roberts or Fort Ord.
Sergeant Razo in the Philippines
Sergeant Razo in the Philippines
My hero, my grandfather Sergeant Max Razo, this picture was taken somewhere in the Philippines with unknown Army Men. I would love to hear from anyone who knows the unknown men. Also, anyone who knows anything about this H.Q. Motor Pool. Did H.Q. stand for Headquarters? Or, was it for Headquarters Company? Grandpa Razo is far right. Grandpa Razo served in the 161st Infantry Regiment from 1941-1945 with a honorable discharge.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Grandpa Razo is in the middle of the gang. He is the darkest and only hispanic in the picture. I'm not sure which camp this is in California. The picture may have been taken around the late 30's or early 40's. My Grandpa entered the Nattional Guard late 30's and became enlisted to the regurlar Army in 1941. Not sure if this is the training when he entered the National Guard or when he entered basic training for the regurlar Army. If anyone knows any other details about where this might have been or know any of the guys in this picture. I would love to know any history regarding this picture.

Training Camp ?
Training Camp ?
Here Grandpa Razo is hanging his clothes out to dry on the volleyball net which hung between the barracks. Can anyone tell me what camp this is? Does anyone recognize the background as to what camp this is? This is the same time frame as the other picture I posted with the gang. Please contact me even if you have an idea of what camp.
