L-R: William DeVito (1879-1938)and his brother-in-law, James P. Brennan (1886-1968)pictured in Dorchester circa 1919 probably after the demobilisation of James Brennan. William was married to James' sister, Mary Anne Brennan (1885-1941). He and Mary Anne had 2 children, Andrew J.DeVito (1908-1991) and Helen DeVito (b.1909). William had at least 1 brother called Albert DeVito (b. 1893) and was a son of Andrew (Andrea) DeVito (b. abt 1826) and Antonia Santasuosso (b. abt 1850). Between 1910 and 1925 William was employed by John A. DeVito at Janinni & DeVito Inc at 288 Commercial Street, Dorchestor.

James Patrick Brennan (1886-1968) stands third from right in the backrow of the picture of him with Motormen colleagues of the Boston Elevated Railway. James was the son of Patrick Brennan (1853-1915) and Ellen Frizzell (1860-1935) of Tubbercurry, Co.Sligo, Ireland. James emigrated to the USA in April 1911. Both before and after military service he worked for the BER in the Milk St and Grove St. Stations. He died at CarrowreaghCooper, Tubbercurry on the morning of 8 May 1968, the day after his wife, Mary Kate Cooke's funeral. He and Mary Kate are buried in Rhue Cemetery, Tubbercurry.

Sr. Mary Laurentia Purcell, born Mary Bridget Purcell at Gortnagroagh, Galway, Ireland in 1907 was the daughter of Patrick Purcell (1882-1975) and Mary Bridget Reynolds (1881-1927) and the grand daughter of John Purcell (1853-1919) and Maria Madden (1856-1932) of Belderrigbeg, Co. Mayo and John Reynolds and Bridget O'Flaherty (1848-1927) of Gortnagroagh, Roscahill, Co. Galway.

She was a postulant in the Sisters of Mercy. Because she suffered from TB her superiors sent her to Australia to benefit healthwise from the dry climate. She entered the Convent of the Sisters of Mercy, The Range, Rockampton, in December 1927. She received her final vows and was professed as Sr.Mary Laurentia Purcell on her death bed on 1 October 1932. She died at the age of 25 at the Mater Hospital, Rockampton and is buried in the Sisters of Mercy Plot in North Rockhampton Cemetery.
