Where the photo came from would help. In example yard sale, resale shop, grandparent's belongings, what city or state found in, etc.
My in laws, in Alvin, TX, changed their last name from Matsushita to Mats in the late 1940s because of the stigma attached to being Japanese. Such a shame, it is a beautiful name meaning, "beneath...
