Shannon Hogan My grandfather, Richard James Hogan, was one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. On this day, 2 December 2013, I am still reminded on the countless ways Grandpa Dick influenced me as I grew to become the man that I am today. Unfortunately, Dick never got the opportunity to meet my children as they were either born or came into my life well past his passing. However, being the good Irish Catholic that I am, I know he is smiling down on all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons and daughters. This man, this great man, and his brother, Herbert Hogan, have all made me very proud to continue the traditions that were knowingly and unknowingly passed down through our family. Dick was just not a member of the Hogan family as this entry says in so many ways, Dick WAS THE Hogan family and is indelible markings have been left on all of our lives. We miss you Seanathair...Grandpa Dick and "Dick", as we would often sneak in, when scolded by him...we will see you in due time. Thank you for making my life better, for simply having known you.
