Dr. Harvey Cromwell, Sr. was the son of Sheldon Winfield and Martha Jane "Mattie" (Hibbard) Cromwell. Dr. Cromwell was the proud honoree at dedication ceremonies of the Harvey Cromwell Communications Center at MSCW (later Mississippi University for Women) where there is hardly a facet of life that had not been shaped by his twenty-eight years of service. Dr. Cromwell helped to establish the first graduate program and from 1966-74 served as the first Dean of the graduate school. He was chairman of the committee, which formulated the first mini-course program and served as the first Director of Continuing Education. Even after his retirement in 1975, as Dean of the graduate school, he continued in a part-time position as Grant Specialist for the university.

This picture was in an album that belonged to Mary Elizabeth (Gleaton) Glover Johnson. Mary was the daughter of Daniel Forrest Gleaton and Rossie Ida (Thompson) Gleaton. The words "Will Thompson and Family" was clearly written below the photo. Any help with connecting this family to the Henry B. Thompson family would be appreciated.

Shelia Lyon Wow. I just saw this and it's been what, five years? I wonder why I was never notified that I had any response! And yes, that is the family. Do you have any information on Will Thompson?

Shelia Lyon I assure you, this is a boy and it is my Grandfather, who was born April 10, 1918. Two of his brothers, Herman and Bill are still living, and both stand firm on the fact that it is their brother, Roy. They say people dressed boys in girl attire back then, especially for pictures.
