About: I am descended from Thomas Chaffe(1637 Hingham, MA)and have been researching for a number of years now. Also looking for any info on mother's side, Fowler & Morris. My gg grandmother was Rebecca Olivia Nidever, from Paris, Lamar County, TX and my gg grandfather, Walter Scott Chaffee, from Madison County, NY(his father was an active abolitionist with Garrett Smith of UGRR fame). On my mother's side, my gg grandfather was Joseph Morris, OH and Electa Stowell OH. They had four children in Lamar Co., TX and then moved to San Luis Obispo Co. 1853. I enjoy helping people who are related to me somehow to find their "roots". We are all related somehow to each other.

Researching: Morris, Ross, West, Booth, Bounds, Fowler, Mccarty, Becknell, Chaffe, Chaffee, Los, Solari, Cota, Nidever, Callis, Ferlin

Ignatius Morton Ferlin, Margaret Theresa Fowler Ferlin, and probably youngest two daughters. They had children up to 1903. Believe the photo taken between 1908-1910 and probably in San Diego County, CA.

My grandfather's sister, Margaret Theresa Fowler, and her husband, Ignatius Morton Ferlin. Their children are my second cousins. The youngest child looks around 2-3 years old so photo looks like about 1890. Believe photo taken in San Diego County, CA.

Benjamin Franklin Morris Sr., Etta Morris, Amanda "Mandy" Laird Morris. Etta was born of Emmaline Jane Monroe Morris, Benjamin's first wife. Since Benjamin killed in March of 1884, believe this photo taken right around that time.

My grandfather, Henry Fred Fowler distant cutting horse, with rope around steer's rear hoofs. Guessing photo taken about 1900-1905 in Bakersfield or Fresno, CA. Believe it to be on Kern County Land & Cattle Company ranch land.

My grandfather, Henry Fred Fowler, on his cutting horse about 1900-1910. He worked for the Kern County Land & Cattle Company for a number of years. My mom remembers when he would rope her and siblings at their home as he was pretty good roper and cattle handler for the company.

Pvt. Wallace Hyde Chaffee portrait hanging in the Ventura VFW, CA. Linda Marie-Monier is the local artist who did the portrait in pencil. Better than the small photograph she used to do the portrait. Wallace died day before Armistice, 11-10-1918 in the Argonne, France.

The Ventura VFW is named for my third cousin, Wallace Hyde Chaffee, who died 11-10-1918. The flag is draped over his tombstone at Ivy Lawn Cemetery.
