Numbers: Roughly 1.5 million children were victims of the Holocaust. In total about 11 million victims, which included not only Jews (about 6 million) but also Poles and other Slavs, Soviet citizens, Soviet POWs, Romanis (Gypsies), Communists, homosexuals, Freemasons, Jehovah's Witnesses and the mentally and physically disabled, were victims of the Nazi regime. By the end, 19.3 million civilians and prisoners of war and 29 million soldiers and civilians died because of the war. Hate and fear can take a great toll.
