In Loving Memory of Jason Michael Snelling Born in Monrovia, California on May 31, 1979 Passed on from Los Angeles, California March 15, 2009 In his 29 years, Jason lived more than most people live in their entire lives. He was an adventurous, gentle and giving soul who brought acceptance and love to others, even to those who judged him. Living in a recovery residence in Long Beach for the past several months, hundreds of miles away from his Eureka home, he desperately desired to return to his family, wife and two year old daughter to be a good father. Jason was outgoing and made friends easily - even made friends with the trees. For six months, he was perched in a redwood tree in Northern California to protect it from being cut down. His passion for social service started at a very early age. He was a natural caregiver, was humble, was grateful, and loved our Savior. Together we embrace the wonderful memories we had with Jason, although we wish we had more. We thank all of you who believed in him. We know he loved you very much. We'll miss his bright smile and quirky fun-loving personality. We'll miss the sound of him plucking his freedom songs on the guitar. We'll miss his gifts of beautiful artwork and poetry. Most of all, we will miss him returning home and look forward to seeing him again.
