Not according to the Guinness World Records book.

1898 - When she was merely 11 years old, on March 24th, Robert Allison of Pennsylvania became the first person to buy an American-built car. Orval Faubus had previously prevented the students from entering the school at the beginning of the term with the Arkansas National Guard - they blocked the door. President Eisenhower ordered federal troops - the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army - to guard the students and allow them entry.

1967 - In the year of Anna Cunningham's passing, on November 7th, President Johnson signed legislation passed by Congress that created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which would later become PBS and NPR.
