  • Introduction

The Advertiser, Adelaide. 15th May 1914. ...PERSONAL... Our Robertstown correspondent writes- Mrs Anna Maria Magdalena Hameister, widow of Mr. William Hameister, died at the residence of her daughter recently at the age of 93. The deceased had been in good health until a short time ago, and was confined to her bed for about six weeks only. For many years her eyesight had been failing, but her memory was good. She was born in Germany, and left there at 26 years of age for this State with her husband and child in 1847. The family lived at Blumberg for some years and afterwards removed to Robertstown, and owned land on which portion of the township is now built, and on which the railway station will shortly be erected. Between 10 and 12 years ago the old people removed to Eudunda, where they lived in retirement until the death of Mr. Hameister a little over eight years ago. Since that time the deceased lady had resided with a daughter, Mrs. Eberhard, of Robertstown. She left two sons, Messrs. Charles Hameister, of Murray Bridge, and Harry Hameister, of Eudunda, 4 daughters, Mesdames Eberhard and Theo. Ruediger, of Robertstown; Sibley, of Eudunda; and Walter Blake, of Adelaide; 36 grandchildren, and 44 great-grandchildren.
