Success Stories - Making Connections
"Thank you for helping me find my family & friends again so many years after I lost them. I get the chance to remember them all this time later." Highlights of just a few of the many successes of sharing memories within the AncientFaces Community. From reuniting Lost & Found or 'orphan' photos with their families, seeing faces of relatives for the first time, to the many connections made with family & friends, and the profound discoveries about our loved ones and ancestors. Special moments like these are why it's important we share.

Popular Toys in the 1950's
Tiny Tears, Davy Crocket, Mr. Potato Head (with your own real potato!), Chinese Checkers . . . the toys of the 1950's. This video shows all of these and more. Do you remember these toys? Do you still have some of them? If you do, you may have a pile of money in your garage or attic.

Miners And Prospectors: Photos of a Tough Life
Black lung, cave-ins, noxious gases, low wages, owing your soul to the company store . . . mining and prospecting has always been a difficult hazardous, and necessary job. With the rise of industrialism, mining became even more important to the U.S. economy. And, prior to Child Labor Laws, even children were involved in the mining industry. We honor those who have given their lives to improve ours - the miners of the world.

20th Century Christmas Shopping
Shopping during the 1900s was a different experience than it is today. Now two decades (wow!) into the 21st century, online shopping is beginning to equal, if not outspend, the shopping at brick and mortar stores. Things were very different not that long ago. In the 20th century people had to go out and shop - in great numbers. A part of everyone's Christmas tradition was going to the stores and enjoying the sights and sounds: The beautiful window displays, the Christmas lights, the newest toys and clothes, visiting Santa, sometimes hearing carolers . . . and the crowds. Always the crowds. Checkout this collection of photos highlighting the experience of Christmas shopping during the 1900s. Do these photos bring back memories?
