She divorced Casey and then she and Lenny remarried shortly before she died. Lenny is currently a contractor on Karen Laine's and Mina Starsiak Hawk's show "Good Bones".
Cheryl recently has gathered internet attention due to HGTV's 'Good Bones' that follows mother-daughter duo Karen E. Laine (first wife of Casey Starsiak) and Mina Starsiak Hawk (daughter of Karen and Casey) as they renovate homes in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mina Starsiak Hawk's dad Casey and Karen Laine had three children in total before later divorcing. Casey then married Cheryl and they had Jess and Tad. Tad works with Karen and Mina on their jobs.

In 1970, in the year that Cheryl Starsiak was born, on May 4th, four students at Kent State University in Ohio were shot and killed by National Guardsmen. The students were at a peaceful demonstration protesting the invasion of Cambodia by US forces. There had been precedent for the killing of American college students. The previous year, on May 15th, Alameda County Sheriffs used shotguns against U.C. Berkeley students at a protest for People's Park. One student died, one was blinded, 128 were injured.
In 1987, by the time she was 17 years old, on October 19th, stock exchanges around the world crashed. Beginning in Hong Kong then spreading to Europe, the crash then hit the United States. It was called Black Monday. The Dow Jones fell 508 points to 1,738.74 (22.61%).
In 1990, Cheryl was 20 years old when after 27 years in prison, Nelson Mandela, the leader of the movement to end South African apartheid was released on February 11th 1990.
In 1992, by the time she was 22 years old, in April, Bosnia-Herzegovina declared independence from Yugoslavia. The newly created Bosnian Serb army then began a campaign against Muslim Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats - killing, raping, torturing, beating and robbing - and resulting in the deaths of over 100,000.
In 1997, when she was 27 years old, on August 31st, Princess Diana of Great Britain was killed when her car crashed into a pillar in the tunnel under the Pont de l'Alma bridge in Paris. The car she was riding in was trying to evade the paparazzi but it was also discovered later that the driver of the car, who was also killed, had three times the legal limit of alcohol which likely contributed to the accident.
