Delia was born in rural Camaguey province Cuba in 1912. She detested the country, she gather up money to rent a horse and buggy for her and her friends to travel and spend day in the city. In her early 20s after caring for her mother until death, she moved to Habana, married , had one child. In 1968, she and her husband Jose Villalon, immigrate to Tampa Fl to live with their daughter and granddaughter. 1971 family moved to Houston Texas where Jose Villalon died and is buried . 1979 to Miami then 1992 to Hollywood Fl.

In 1912, in the year that Delia Villalon was born, Arizona was admitted to the United States in February (on Valentine's Day). It became the 48th state in the Union. Previously a Spanish - then Mexican - territory, the U.S. paid $15 million dollars for the area in 1848. Arizona was the last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the United States.

In 1922, when she was merely 10 years old, on James Joyce's 40th birthday, his book Ulysses was published in France. The book covers the experiences of an Irishman in Dublin on an ordinary day, 16 June 1904. Now considered a classic, it was controversial at the time. Due to some sexual content, the book was banned in the U.S. during the 1920's and the U.S. Post Office destroyed 500 copies of the novel.

In 1975, when she was 63 years old, in January, Popular Mechanics featured the Altair 8800 on it's cover. The Altair home computer kit allowed consumers to build and program their own personal computers. Thousands were sold in the first month.

In 1987, at the age of 75 years old, Delia was alive when on October 19th, stock exchanges around the world crashed. Beginning in Hong Kong then spreading to Europe, the crash then hit the United States. It was called Black Monday. The Dow Jones fell 508 points to 1,738.74 (22.61%).

In 1997, she was 85 years old when on June 26th, the first Harry Potter book by J. K. Rowling was released. "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" was an immediate success and spawned not only sequels but also movies, video games, plays, and amusement park attractions. J.K. Rowling, at the time of the first book a poor single mother, has become a multi-billionaire.
