1905 - When he was 17 years old, the Industrial Workers of the World was founded. An international labor union founded in Chicago, it was most often referred to as the "Wobblies" and had ties to the socialist movement and the anarchist movement. At its peak, it had 150,000 members.

1910 - He was 22 years old when the Mann Act, also called the White-Slave Traffic Act, was signed into law. But the language was so broad that it was also applied to consensual sex between adults when wished.

1940 - When he was 52 years old, on November 5th, President Franklin Roosevelt was elected to a third term, defeating Wendell Willkie of Indiana (a corporate lawyer). Roosevelt running for a third term was controversial.
