Elizabeth Ann Dodsworth passed away in 1959 in Mont, Australia at 69 years old. She was born in 1890. She was born to Poole John Dodsworth and Margaret Graham Dodsworth.

In 1890, in the year that Elizabeth Ann Dodsworth was born, on January 2nd, Alice Sanger became the first female staffer to work in the White House. She was hired as a stenographer and, as such, took dictation.

In 1912, she was 22 years old when the Girl Scouts of the USA was started by Juliette Gordon Low with the help of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts in Great Britain. She said after a meeting with Baden-Powell, "I've got something for the girls of Savannah, and all of America, and all the world, and we're going to start it tonight!" And she did.

In 1921, when she was 31 years old, hugely popular Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, silent film star, was arrested for rape and manslaughter after an actress died following a party at his house. He was acquitted after three trials and the jury wrote a formal letter apologizing for the charges, but his career never recovered. His films were at first banned - the ban was lifted after a year - and he was mostly ostracized by the community. He died at 46..

In 1946, by the time she was 56 years old, on July 4th, the Philippines gained independence from the United States. In 1964, Independence Day in the Philippines was moved from July 4th to June 12th at the insistence of nationalists and historians.

In 1959, in the year of Elizabeth Ann Dodsworth's passing, on August 8th, Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States. The US flag was changed to show 50 stars.
