Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Fannie

I knew Fanny ( her spelling) as a fellow employee at Rich’s Atlanta. She was a tough minded, direct person who was also kind and generous. She and Herbert, her husband befriended me when I was also a struggling student. Herb helped me maintain my car, buying tires, even rebuilding the engine at his Contractors Equipment Co shop. Herb and Fanny treated me like a son, often inviting me to their apt. on Cherokee Ave and taking me out for dinner. I was saddened when Herb died of a heart attack as he was working on equipment in Houston TX. I often visited with Fanny in her apt. after I went to graduate school in Auburn AL and lost track of Fanny after I married in 1965. She and Herb were the best friends I ever had in my youth.
