The Dieterlen children
This photo is of my great-great-grandmother's young siblings (from left to right): Magdalena, John, Henry, and Charles. Sadly, these kids grew up to have some pretty tragic lives. Lena (born in 1888) died of tuberculosis as a young woman. Henry (born in 1884) was crushed to death in a train accident in 1908. Charles (born in 1890) died of complications after an appendectomy in 1922. John (born in 1892) grew up to be a fire marshall, and was electrocuted while responding to a call in 1922.
