Jami Ruedlinger is the biological mother & adoptive sister of Ethan Ruedlinger. Excerpt from “A Record Of The Notable Ancestry Of The Ruedlingers Vol. 2”: Ethnic Origins Of Ethan Ruedlinger: As stated in my autobiography, I was adopted by my parents, Leonard & Connie Ruedlinger. The relations listed in these two volumes are through my biological parents; Sean L. Cockerham (August 1977-Living) of North Vernon, Indiana; and Jami Lynn Ruedlinger (November 1st 1979-January 10th 2011.) of North Vernon, Indiana. Jami was adopted as a young child by my parents, Leonard & Connie Ruedlinger. Jami’s mother, my biological maternal grandmother, was Judith A. “Judy” (Williams) Frappier (June 27th 1944-November 25th 1994), born in Logan, West Virginia. Judith Frappier is a direct descendant of Mary Boleyn the sister of Queen Anne Boleyn; and many thousands of European and even white Middle Eastern monarchs, with Adasi King Of Assyria (1760BC-1669BC), designated by the Assyrian King List as the last of the seven great usurpers of the Assyrian throne who stabilized Assyria and freed the Empire from Amorite influence, being her furthest traceable ancestor, as well as the furthest traceable ancestor of each member of the Ruedlinger family. There is also a line traced through the Armenian and Parthian Kings to Queen Esther of Persia, the subject of the Biblical Book of Esther and descendent of King Saul of Israel, which has been explored in the previous pages of this volume. Judith is a direct descendant of Reverend Abner Alexander Vance Sr. (1759?-July 16th, 1819), making her and I a cousin of the Hatfield family of the famous Hatfield-McCoy feud. I am also the direct 7th Cousin of US Vice President “JD” Vance (August 2nd, 1984- Living) through our common descent from Abner. I also share common ancestry with US President Abraham Lincoln through Upton family, my 2nd maternal Great Grandmother Minnie Agnes Upton (March 29th, 1900-February 27th, 1983) being my closest Upton ancestor. My closest direct ancestor I share with Abraham Lincoln is John Upton (January 19th, 1579-1659), who is my maternal 10th Great Grandfather and Lincoln’s paternal 6th Great Grandfather. I also share common ancestry with Lincoln on my paternal side through the Spencer family of colonial Jamestowne who married into the Cockerham family. Their line extends directly to Henry Lincoln II (1347-1400), my paternal 19th Great Grandfather and Abraham Lincoln’s paternal 12th Great Grandfather. I also share direct ancestors with my favorite country music singer Johnny Cash, the closest being Lewis Green II (September 25th, 1627-November 19th, 1696), my maternal 12th Great Grandfather, and Johnny Cashes’ paternal 6th Great Grandfather. From what I have been told by my mother, Judith Frappier was an abusive drunk who lost custody of Jami due to her violent episodes. She died of Cirrhosis of the liver, bleeding to death in the Jennings County Hospital in North Vernon, which is located across the street from the 55+ Apartment complex where my papaw Duncan lived in his final days on Earth. Jami died of Hepatitis C, which she contracted from sharing needles while injecting street drugs. Her life story is lengthy and very tragic; she was abused from a young age by Judith Frappier, and after being adopted by my parents Leonard & Connie Ruedlinger, who put forth their best effort to steer her toward the best path in life, she later fell victim to her vices in her vain attempt to numb her anguish, only be taken by them at the age of 31. Jami’s father is Edward Fabian “Sonny” Frappier (1932-July 15th 1989). It was extremely difficult for me to find any records on Sonny. My parents knew both Sonny and Judith. They gave me as much information as they could, noting that Sonny was French Canadian and Judith was, for lack of a better term, a West Virginian hillbilly. After two years of diligent searching, I finally stumbled upon my first concrete lead: transcription of Sonny’s court trial, which took place in Jennings County, Indiana; for theft, robbery, and a number of other criminal charges. Growing up, my parents always told me the story of a time when they were returning to their home in Butlerville, Indiana from vacation when a group of men were robbing their house. They took a .22 rifle and one of dad’s shotguns. Dad pursued them, but they got away. They reported the incident to the local police, and nothing came of it. The court transcript specifically mentions that Sonny stole a .22 rifle and a shotgun from a home in Butlerville, Indiana. As if things could not possibly be more strange, it seems more than likely that my biological grandfather unknowingly robbed his daughter’s and grandson’s adoptive parents in the 1980’s. While Judith Frappier’s ancestry is heavily English Colonial, mainly coming to a head at the Puritan Great Migration of the early 17th century, Edward Frappier’s ancestry is a mix of both English Colonial American and French Colonial Canadian ancestry. From what I have gathered over the past few months, it seems the vast majority of Edward Frappier’s French ancestors arrived in Canada between 1600-1650. However, these lines of descent are through his French Canadian father, Telesphore Frappier (1912-?). According to public record, he was born in Canada and immigrated to Escabana, Michigan. His mother on the other hand, Vivian A. Powers (1918-1959) was apparently born somewhere in Iowa. Her ancestry is heavily American Colonial, which means my French Canadian ancestry stems from my great grandfather. Vivian Powers is a direct descendant of Robert II King Of Scotland through Nathaniel Morrison (September 27th 1707-March 15th 1806), who was born in the Isle Of Lewis and Cromarty, Scotland, immigrating to America sometime in the early to mid 18th century. According to a Sons of the American Revolution Application which has been made public, he was a veteran of the Revolutionary war, serving in the 1st Battery of the Berkeley Co Militia. My biological father, Sean L. Cockerham (August 1977-Living) is the son of Jack Lynn Cockerham Sr. (February 26th, 1934-April 20th, 1998) and Ibelle Marie (Petro) Cockerham (August 11th, 1949-March 21st, 2009). As previously mentioned in volume 2 of my autobiography, it was impossible to know who my biological father was until my DNA was matched with several other Cockerhams, one of which was descended from Jack’s father, Herbert Dallas Cockerham (April 13th, 1910-October 2nd, 1982), making him my first cousin. After speaking with him, I came to the conclusion that his branch of the Cockerham family had left the town of North Vernon and Jennings County, where Ibelle’s family seems to have resided even prior to the admission of Indiana as the 19th state in 1816. They left because, as it was described to me, the Cockerhams of North Vernon were all very intelligent people, but they used their intelligence for criminal activity, rather than putting their apparently heightened intellectual capacity to good use in improving society and their own lives. The other branch now resides in Seymour, Indiana, a town my brother Matthew Ruedlinger lived in for a time when I was a child. I grew up in the same little old house on Meadow Lane in North Vernon, Indiana from my birth in 2001 up until 2010. It was a much safer and more peaceful town in those days, it’s livability has considerably declined even in the last half decade. My cousin’s family branched off because, from what he was told, Herbert was an abusive drunk who beat his children, and using mere conjecture, I would posit that Jack likely abused Sean, at least to some degree, though to my knowledge, Sean knows nothing of my existence, I have no way of verifying this. Jack Cockerham’s ancestry has multiple fascinating elements. Jack is the 14th Great Grandson of King Henry VII of England (January 28th, 1457-April 21st 1509), making him the 13th Great Grandnephew of Henry VIII King of England, as well as verifying his direct descent from, or relation to every preceding English monarch, as well as his relation to tens of thousands of other European monarchs from the intermarrying of countless royal families throughout the ages. He is also directly descended from William Spencer “The Ancient Planter” (September 3rd, 1576-July 5th, 1654), a Jamestowne Colonist who arrived in America between 1606-1611 aboard the Susan Constant, according to record. It is his daughter, Anne (Spencer) Cockerham (1624-May 13th 1699), that married into my biological father’s paternal Cockerham line by marrying William Thomas Cockerham (1593-1669), making them my 11th Great Grandparents. This means that I am very close to being descended from William Spencer “The Ancient Planter” of colonial Jamestowne through my unbroken direct paternal line, the only woman in the equation being Anne (Spencer) Cockerham. I am also the direct descendant of Edith (West) Cockerham (1465-151), wife of George Cockerham (1458-1510) through my unbroken paternal line. She is the direct descendant of King Henry III of England, and is of the English house of West, daughter of the 7th Baron De La Warr, who is an ancestor of my direct maternal ancestor Sir Thomas Leighton West 2nd Lord De La Warr (July 9th, 1557-March 24th, 1601) who married my other direct maternal ancestor Anne West Knollys Baroness De La Warr (July 19th, 1555-August 30th, 1608), the granddaughter of Mary Boleyn, who is my 17th Great Grandmother through Jami Lynn Ruedlinger and the sister of Queen Anne Boleyn. Jack’s Maternal Great Grandfather, my paternal 2nd Great Grandfather, Jacob H. “Jake” Wetzel (March 17th, 1877-September 1976) lived to the age of 99. A newspaper clipping remarking on the celebration of his 99th birthday in 1976 states that he was a resident of Medora in Jackson County, Indiana and had a multitude of living descendants. His photograph is shown in the article. Mr. Wetzel appears to have been of at least 1/4th German descent, and his ancestors appear to have arrived in Jennings County, Indiana from Germany sometime between 1760-1770. The remainder of his ancestry is American English Colonial. My biological paternal grandmother, Ibelle Marie (Petro) Cockerham, is almost entirely of English Colonial descent, though the name “Petro” is French, and her paternal line arrived in America with John Bernhardt Petro (1722-December 22nd, 1813), my paternal 7th Great Grandfather, who was born in Palitinate, Alsace, France, and died in Clearwater Creek, Warren, Ohio. His son, Nicholas Petro (1746-November 1812), my paternal 6th Great Grandfather, appears to have served in the Revolutionary War. Ibelle’s paternal 10th Great Grandfather, my paternal 12th Great Grandfather, is Helier de Carteret Sir St. Owen, who was the Seigneur of the Island of Sark, one of the Islands deep in the English Channel. He was given permission by Queen Elizabeth I of England to cultivate and settle the island, and did so, with his original Seigneur position still being occupied to this day. His paternal line were the Seigneurs of St. Owen, also spelled St. Ouen in some documents. Dr. Arthur Johnstone, Scottish Poet & Physician (1587-1641) is Ibelle’s paternal 10th Great Grandfather and my paternal 12th Great Grandfather through Edward Taylor (July 20th, 1712-January 18th, 1783), the 2nd Great Grandson of Dr. Arthur Johnstone and the 2nd Great Grandson of Helier Carteret. Edward Taylor is my paternal 8th Great Grandfather through Ibelle. It is also interesting to note that it is through Ibelle’s grandmother Effie Frances (Mullis) Petro (February 15th 1888-October 23rd 1952), who was born in Brown County, Indiana and died in Scipio, Indiana, a town very close to North Vernon that my half brother attended grade school in, that I am descended from the royal Fowler family, though this is not my only line of descent from them. I am related to my father, Leonard Ruedlinger, through William Fowler, Servant Of King Edward IV (1400-July 2nd, 1452) and Cecelia (Englefield) Fowler, descendant of Magna Carta Sureties Hugh Bigod and Roger Bigod (1403-1447). These two Fowlers are our common ancestors. I am also more closely related to my father through the Scottish MacLeod Clan, many of the Chiefs of which are our common ancestors. I am also very closely related to my mother Connie Ruedlinger through various lines, as well as my brother Matthew Ruedlinger, and niece, Hannah (Ruedlinger) Brooks. I am also closely related to my other niece, Hadlee Hendrix, through the Coffin family of Nantucket, Massachusetts, the same family which Owen Coffin and Admiral Isaac Coffin are members of. In conclusion it seems that, though ethnically my ancestry is peppered with distant and mostly mid-colonial Irish, Scottish, Welsh, French, and German ancestry, I am almost exclusively early Puritan Great Migration English Colonial-Descended, and impressively heavily descended from English royalty and nobility. My blood has been running through the men of America since at least 167 years prior to it’s founding. My earliest American ancestors arrived here from England 416 years ago from this very year of 2025. I am primarily genetically English, with a bit of French and Irish.
