Online obituary for Jonathan Matthew Milligan In the words of his pastor, "Jonathan Milligan was my dude, my boy, my friend and like a son to me. I have been his pastor for a year, but our relationship goes back for many years. He loved God, he loved people, and was as genuine as they come. No airs put on for anyone. What you saw is what you got." He loved Melissa and their kids with everything in him. While he is gone from us, nothing will ever stop his spirit for his trust was in Jesus-the Resurrection and the Life. No one enjoyed life more than Jonathan Milligan. All of us experienced the joy that Jonathan carried in his heart and spread to others with his smile, laughter, and playfulness. Joy is a short but powerful word. The joy of the Lord was Jonathan's strength. He sought opportunities to share that joy with everyone he met whether through his contagious smile, words of encouragement, or one of his favorite scriptures. He was always about his Father's business. Nothing brought more joy to Jonathan than seeing souls saved. That was his mission in life. Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of our lives, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God is every situation.
