1946 - Jose was just 3 years old when pediatrician Dr. Benjamin Spock's book "The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care" was published. It sold half a million copies in the first six months. After an exhaustive (and long) investigation it came to be believed that two individuals from Libya had planted the bomb.

1992 - By the time he was 49 years old, on April 29th, riots began in Los Angeles after the "Rodney King" verdict was issued. Their acquittal sparked a 6 day riot in Los Angeles.

1994 - At the age of 51 years old, Jose was alive when on May 6th, the Channel Tunnel or "Chunnel" was officially opened. The Chunnel is a railway tunnel beneath the English Channel that connects Great Britain to mainland France. Original plans for such a tunnel were developed in 1802 and approved by Napoleon Bonaparte but the British rejected the plan fearing that Napoleon would use the railway to invade.
