Joseph Bernard Daugherty Sr. of Dupo, Saint Clair County, Illinois was born on January 26, 1920 in Elvins (now Park Hills), St. Francois County, Missouri United States to Iola Pearl (Cage) Daugherty-Eaton and William Joseph Daugherty. He had siblings Pauline B. (Daugherty) Fahrenhorst-Cain, Wilson Waldo Daugherty, Yvan Leo "Leo" Daugherty, Juanita Wilma (Daugherty) Couch-Langley-Dowler, Thelda Marie Daugherty, Harold Ward Daugherty, and Champ Clark Daugherty. He married Beddie Lucille (Byrd) Thomas-Daugherty, and had children William Joseph Daugherty, Joseph Bernard "Bernie" Daugherty, Jr., Barbara (Daugherty) Newcom, Beverly (Daugherty) Miller, and Bonnie (Daugherty) Hamontree. Joseph Daugherty died at age 64 years old on August 30, 1984 in East Carondelet (now Cahokia), St. Clair County, IL.

    Joseph Daugherty Joseph B. Daugherty, 61, of Dupo, died on Sunday, August 30. He was a painter for Hartman-Walsh Company in St. Louis. He was a member of Painters Local 46 District 2 in St. Louis and a member of the Falling Springs Conservation Club in Dupo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, the former Irene Byrd; two sons, Joseph B. Daugherty, Jr., of Saudi Arabia and William R. Daugherty of Cahokia; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Newcom of Cahokia, Mrs. Beverly Miller of Houston, Tx., and Mrs. Bonnie Hamontree of East Carondelet; three brothers, Leo Daugherty of Indian Town, Fla., Wilson Daugherty of Leadwood, Mo., and Lloyd Eaton of Hazelwood, Mo.; a sister, Pauline Cain of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia, Rev. Boatwright officiating. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis. Friends may call between 1 and 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Heart Fund.
