Kevin was a childhood acquaintance, back in the mid/late '60s. We both went to Bentley school, and he was in my fifth grade class. After elementary school, we drifted apart, but I still saw him occasionally as he lived nearby on Oxford street in Manchester.

Kevin had two older brothers, Michael and Brian, and a younger brother Gerald. I didn't know the older brothers just the younger two--Kevin and Gerald. Their father, Paul Lindsay, was rather old and was well-known to have a respiratory issue--coughing. Often I went with Kevin or Gerald to various places, like the Anderson yard farther south on Oxford st. A favorite destination was Center Springs park. We also went to a pond near Hawthorne street, not far from the Neumann place. Many times we caught various critters--grasshoppers, frogs, fish, turtles and snakes.

Of the five original Lindsay siblings, two, including Kevin, are deceased. Besides Gerald and Michael, he is survived by a sister, Kathy. RIP old acquaintance.

Kevin could be audacious. Once he saw a garter snake attempting to cross Oxford st near the old Wilky place (on the corner of Oxford and Ashland) and tried to catch it. That snake fought back fiercely. It bit Kevin's fingers around five times, causing some bleeding. But he persisted and caught it.
