After an exhaustive (and long) investigation it came to be believed that two individuals from Libya had planted the bomb.

In 1990, on April 24th, the Hubble telescope was launched into space after long delays due to the Challenger explosion. In 1997, on August 31st, Princess Diana of Great Britain was killed when her car crashed into a pillar in the tunnel under the Pont de l'Alma bridge in Paris.
