In 1805, at the age of 32 years old, Phoebe was alive when on October 21st, Lord Nelson defeated the French and Spanish fleets in the Battle of Trafalgar in Spain. 33 British ships fought 41 ships from Spain and France. The Franco-Spanish fleet lost 22 ships while the British lost none. The battle ended plans to invade Great Britain.

In 1815, when she was 42 years old, on June 18th, the Battle of Waterloo was fought. Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, and Gebhard Leberecht von Bl├╝cher decisively defeated Napoleon's troops. The defeat at Waterloo ended Napoleon's rule as Emperor of the French. Napoleon would die in exile six years later.

In 1825, at the age of 52 years old, Phoebe was alive when on August 18th, the Panic of 1825 began in London and spread to Europe, Latin America, and the United States. It affected Great Britain most strongly, leading to the closing of six banks in London and 60 banks in the country. Scottish adventurer - and trickster - Gregor MacGregor had invented a fictional Latin American country called Poyais and persuaded others to invest in the "country". The loss of funds on the part of banks and others began the panic.

In 1833, when she was 60 years old, on March 4th, Andrew Jackson was sworn in for a second term as President of the United States. Jackson had won the election over Henry Clay of Kentucky - Jackson got 54.2 % of the popular vote.

In 1852, in the year of Phoebe Lincoln's passing, on February 11th, the first women's public toilet was opened in London. Paris had public toilets much sooner and Berlin had opened one in 1820.
