He moved to Huntsville, Alabama, as a young adult. His life-partner, Rodney John Baker Sr., lived with him there. He worked for a Kmart in Huntsville and became the store manager. He died of AIDS-related complications on Dec 1 1992 at age 24. His gravesite is in Laceys Spring, Morgan County, Alabama at the Pine Grove Free Holiness Church Cemetery.
