Robert "Lee" Seitz and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Seitz: I took this picture of my paternal grandparents in their home in Eldorado, Jackson County, Oklahoma, in approximately 1968. My grandmother rarely smiled in pictures and for this reason, this is a special picture to the family. The couple had 5 sons and lived in Mobeetie, Texas, farming and then they moved to Eldorado, Oklahoma. They are buried in the Eldorado Cemetery.

This is how I remember Uncle Lee and Aunt Lizzie. Uncle Lee used to kid us a lot and told us "stories". He told us that our cousins had "garments" on their backs and that they ate old dead cows. We argued with him that it could not be true!! Aunt Lizzie was serious minded and a lot of fun at the same time!!
Not long after I married, my husband and I visited them. They still had an outhouse. Fred, my husband, went out to the outhouse. Aunt Lizzie said, "I wonder what he would do if I went out and knocked on the door!" Mother and I doubled over with laughter. Of course she didn't carry out with the threat!!
This is a picture of my grandparents in their home at Eldorado, Oklahoma. With them are their 5 sons. The son standing in the middle of the back row had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was in the same location that he had been kicked in the head by a horse in childhood.
All 5 sons went overseas in WWII and all 5 survived to come home. Cecil, the son on the left back, had a shrapnel wound. Back row l to r: Cecil W. Seitz (deceased), Alton Andrew Seitz (deceased), Elbert Lee Seitz (my father), Front row l to r: Garland Floyd Seitz, Robert Lee Seitz (deceased), Elizabeth Ewing Hopkins Seitz(deceased), and Glenn Orville Seitz

This is a picture of my grandfather, Robert Lee Seitz, as a young man. It was probably taken before he was married. He grew up in Mobeetie, Texas, and farmed there. He married Elizabeth Ewing Hopkins Seitz and they had 5 sons, who all served in WWII and all survived. His parents were Julius LaFayette Seitz and "Mollie" Walker Seitz.
This is a picture of my paternal great-grandparents, Julius LaFayette Seitz and Mary Isabel "Mollie" Walker Seitz. Mollie is holding my uncle, William Ernest Seitz. The little boy sitting on the arm of the chair in the sailor outfit is my grandfather, Robert Lee Seitz. The couple had 11 children and Julius LaFayette Seitz had 2 children with his first wife who died in childbirth. The family lived in Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Julius LaFayette was born in Catawba County, North Carolina. He died 19 Nov 1948 and is buried in the Mobeetie Cemetery at Mobeetie, Wheeler County, Texas. Mollie was born in Illinois Bend, Montague County, Texas. She died 6 Jan 1957 and is buried in the Mobeetie, Texas, cemetery. Mollie's parents were both dead by the time she was 11 years old. Her mother died when she was 9 years old and her father died 2 years later. She told her grandson, Elbert Lee Seitz, that she lived with people in Colorado after that and could remember hearing the cougars scream at night. My father, Elbert Lee Seitz, lived with them when he went to first grade because he lived out in the country and they lived in town.
