He married Deborah Ann Reich in 1975 in Cape Canaveral, Brevard County, Florida, and they were married until Robert's death on June 26, 2000 in Cape Canaveral. He had children Rebecca Ann Lang and Theresa Jean Jenkins. Robert Tuten was buried on June 30, 2000 in Melbourne.
