  • Introduction

    Major League Baseball Player. Born in San Jose, California, he was an outfielder making his debut for the New York Yankees on April 14, 1920. For eleven years he played with the New York Yankees (1920-29), Cincinnati Reds (1930) and in 1925, he led the American League in home runs with 33 and runs batted in with 138. He also hit over .313 seven times and was a member of the New Yankees World Series Championship teams (1923, 1927, 1928). He concluded his career with a record of 1693 hits, 826 runs scored, 156 home runs, 1067 runs batted in and a .309 batting average. He died at 81 in Downey, California.

Robert William "Bob" Meusel (July 19, 1896 – November 28, 1977) was a left and right fielder in the American Major League Baseball (MLB) league. He played for eleven seasons from 1920 - 1930.

Meusel spent the majority of his career playing for the New York Yankees during their 1920's winning streaks. Bob Meusel, also known as "Murderers' Row" batted fifth behind Baseball Hall of Fame members Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.
