Rose Marie (Weckert) Pressley was born on August 22, 1926 in Cloquet, Carlton County, Minnesota United States to Jesena "Sena" Weckert and Joseph Weckert, and had siblings Raymond Weckert, Elizabeth Ann (Weckert) Landro, Patricia Weckert Johnson, and Violet Elizabeth (Weckert) Wilson. She married Earl Pressley in 1947 and they later divorced. She had a child Carol (Pressley) Olson. Rose Pressley died at age 78 years old on December 18, 2004 in Oakdale, Washington County.

    Rose Marie Pressley, 78 of Cloquet died peacefully Saturday, December 18, 2004 in Health East Pillars Hospice in Oakdale after a six year battle with lung cancer. She was born August 22, 1926 in Cloquet to Joseph and Sena (Madsen) Weckert. Rose graduated from Cloquet High School in 1944. She moved to Washington DC where she worked for the Treasury Dept. for several years. Following her marriage to Earl Pressley in 1947, she moved to North Carolina. She returned to Cloquet in 1961 where she went to work at Diamond Match until her retirement in 1983. Rose was an active member and volunteer of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Cooties. She was known for her pie baking and crocheting. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1974; sister, Evelyn Landro; brother, Raymond Weckert; brothers-in-law, Alvin Landro, Trig Landro and Arvo Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Ray) Pressley-Olson of Woodbury; grandchildren, Ryan, Dana, and Michael; sisters, Violet Wilson, Elizabeth “Betty” Landro, Pat (Don) Johnson all of Cloquet; her sisters-in-law, Florence Weckert and Rachel Landro both of Cloquet; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Cloquet and North Carolina. The family wishes to thank the staff at Pillars Hospice and St. Mary’s Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Rose during the previous 18 months, especially Jan McDowell, Linda McDonald, Ruth Shepard, Sue Ryan, and Kristine Fitch. A very special appreciation goes to Dr. Jonathon Sande for his wonderful care and concern. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 27, 2004 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet. !/Obituary
