In 1922, in the year that Rosezana (Oaks) Collins was born, the Lincoln Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C. on May 30th. More than 35,000 people attended the dedication including Lincoln's son, Robert Todd Lincoln, and many Union and Confederate veterans - although the audience was segregated. The Memorial took 10 years to complete.

In 1953, on July 27th, the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed. The Armistice was to last until "a final peaceful settlement is achieved". No peaceful settlement has ever been agreed upon.

The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself
On March 4th, 1933 was President Franklin D. Roosevelt's first inaugural speech addressing the fear of the nation. Fear has often played a part of American politics, but when unemployment was almost 25% during the depths of the Great Depression, his speech provided hope to a nation that was suffering. The most remembered part of his inaugural address was the phrase "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"...
