She married Henry Mittwer, and had children Eric Mittwer, Gretchen Kyoko Mittwer, and Joyce Shizuka (Mittwer) Ishihara. Sachiko Mittwer died at age 97 years old on June 28, 2017 in Kyoto, and was buried at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto.
