In 1800, by the time he was 36 years old, on August 30th, educated blacksmith Gabriel Prosser organized a slave revolt. He wanted to capture Richmond and kill all whites - excluding Methodists, Quakers, Frenchmen, and the poor - and become king of a new black nation. The revolt failed, he was captured and hung. Slave laws were tightened in Virginia.

In 1808, at the age of 44 years old, Simeon was alive when on February 11th, anthracite coal - the hardest form of coal - was first burned as fuel by Jesse Fell, in Pennsylvania. He burned the coal on an open air grate. This discovery led to the use of coal as the key fuel source of the industrial revolution in the United States.

In 1818, in the year of Simeon Jones, Jr.'s passing, on March 22nd, Easter Day fell on the earliest possible date in western Christianity. This won't happen again until 2285.
