Thomas Hebuirn died at age 43 years old on March 28, 1873 at Chilwell in Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia.

    The Geelong Advertiser. Vic. 29th March 1873. HEBUIRN. - On the 28th March, at Saffron street, Chilwell, Thomas Hebuirn, aged 43 years. The funeral will move this day, Saturday, 29th inst., at 2:30 p.m. for the Eastern Cemetery. Friends are respectfully invited. J. W. Hudson, Undertaker. 97 Moorabool street.

In 1829, in the year that Thomas Hebuirn was born, on May 6th, the patent for an instrument called an "accordion" was applied for by German citizen Cyrill Demian. The patent described the accordion this way: "Its appearance essentially consists of a little box with feathers of metal plates and bellows fixed to it, in such a way that it can easily be carried, and therefore traveling visitors to the country will appreciate the instrument."
