    Walter was called Vern or Veron by family and friends. He is in a grave far away in England but he is never forgotten. ((The photograph was sourced by the excellent website -aircrewremembered.com)) For further photographs and his life go to Aircrew Remembered.

    Buried in Chester (Blacon) Cemetery in England. Far away but always remembered. He was called Vernon or Vern. His first cousin Walter Allamby (VX129385) was killed at the age of 21 during Japanese invasion of Rabaul, New Britain in 1942.

A photo of Walter Vernon Wilfred Allamby in his Flying Officer uniform. Royal Australian Air Force. He was the pilot of an Avro Lancaster Bomber that crashed north of Leek England. He died along with six others on 3rd January 1945... His loving parents never got over the loss of their son. His records state he had a bright, happy personality. He had much potential. War took this away.
