George Washington Tribett (1830-1922) & His Six Sons
George Washington Tribett, seated in front, the son of Cornelius Vanderbilt Tribett and Mary Elizabeth (Miller)aka Betsy, was born in NJ, whereas his wife Lucy Isabelle Johnston, the daughter of John Alexander Johnson or Johnston and Samantha Story, was born in Ohio. They married 23 April 1867 in Athens Co, Ohio and had nine children, six sons and three daughters, all born in Meigs Co, Ohio except their youngest, Lula or Lulu Evelyn, who was born in Jackson Co, WV.
Their other daughters were Florence Charlotta and Effie Magdalene. The six sons, who are standing behind their father, George Washington Tribbett, are named below in People in the Photo. John Cornelius Tribett, the son on the right, married Christina Melissa Carl, one of the daughters of Daniel Martin Carl and his wife, Eliza Fredrica Brown.
