1909 - He was 28 years old when William Howard Taft became the 27th President of the United States on March 4th. 1916 - He was 35 years old when in June, the U.S. Congress authorized a plan to expand the armed forces over the next five years. It also allowed the government to stockpile, in advance, materiel to be used in wartime.

Other songs had previously been used - among them, "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", "God Bless America", and "America the Beautiful". 1975 - In the year of William Morey's passing, in January, Popular Mechanics featured the Altair 8800 on it's cover. The Altair home computer kit allowed consumers to build and program their own personal computers. Thousands were sold in the first month.
