Anna's Aunt Mabel Kennett Russo and her Uncle James Russo were Vaudeville performers who traveled all over the country performing. And then would return to Providence on the off season bringing gifts for everyone. James was a dancer, knew Bob Hope when he was young and kept performing right up to the end of his life. He died in 1949. James' brother Leo Russo (1892-1957) was also a performer, a puppeteer using the old Sicilian Marionettes.

Born March 28, 1903 at 13 Ridge St. Provience, in the Federal Hill section. This area of the hill was torn down in the early 1960s to make way for a freeway.
Her father was born in Termini-Imerese, Sicily (family name Mantia) and her mother was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1888. The branch of the Termini-Imerese Mantia family of which her father Cosimo was a member originally came from Palermo.
