Anne was my mother's best friend and she and my mother used to have a lot of fun together as young ladies about town in Louisville, KY in the 1940's. They wrote a number of letters to each other for years, after my mother had married and moved away. Anne lived on Eastover Court off Franklin Ave in Louisville with her sister Barbara and their mother Maude Vance Layton. She always sent me birthday and Christmas presents, I was named after her as well. She was a very good person and friend to my mother, Margaret Ruth Cabaniss.
