Thank you for asking about her family tree- I often find old photographs and if there's any info on the back I hope to locate the family if they want the photo back for their ancestry. And this little girl is lovely!
I have an 11x20 and I got it at a thrift store where someone donated the entire household pictures and dishes, I am trying to find a family name, but seeing as the family gave them away I suppose the nearest family didn't care, the picture is old, maybe over 100 years, it is colorized in blue tones, it also has the little boys locks of curls tied in a ribbon inside the frame
Mimi Sparks well if you can't locate any family members who wants them at least you salvaged them and are caring for them . In a way I feel that their ancestors appreciate that . I know I do!
What a great idea, looking at the back of old photo's or old portraits. And posting them in hopes to be reunited with their families. I know I would cherish any photo of any of my ancestors.
My grandma lost a box of her family pictures is one of their moves between Montgomery County Missouri & Idaho Springs, CO or Evergreen CO. Would give anything to have those back. Probably landed in a land fill.
I was the lucky recipient of a gift of a family photo like this ... a lovely lady in Ky found a photo of my g g uncle in an antique store...had his name written on the back. She searched Ancestry and found my tree with him in it! Mailed me the photo and didn't even want reimbursement for postage or the cost of the photo. Wonderful people out there!
oh i do hope that the photo gets posted to the find a grave memorial that way more family have a chance of seeing it as well, she is a beautiful baby i would guess she was a beautiful woman as well, thank you to to the person who bought the photo and is looking for the family to return to
Possibly Eva M. Robbs, Dau of Harrison and Sarrah Robs who were born in TN. She lived in Island City, Union County, OR in 1880 (B: Abt 1871 in OR) . Lived in La Grande, Union County, OR in 1900 as an adult. I cannot tell the age of the photo however.
There is a tree on Ancestry (Cummins1919), that has the following.......Eva Cummins
Birth 25 July 1902 in Touchet, Walla Walla, Washington
Death 13 Mar 1984 in Yakima County, Washington.........It appears this is the daughter of the Eva mentioned earlier in the comments. I sent the owner a message on Ancestry, with this information. We'll see!
The person with this tree didn't work out. The picture is now on Ancestry in another tree (skyrider3277), attached to the same Eva listed above. 1902-1984 born in Washington state, but mother was from Oregon. She was married several times (once as a widow) and traveled out of the country more than once, in the 30's & 40's. I think only had one daughter. This was fun!
Dustin Cummins, oh my goodness, small world. I'm an agent with Landstar Ranger DCR Agency. You and I have mutual friends Debbie and Chad. I really hope that the picture can be positively identified, she's so cute.
So precious! Many years ago my grandma and her husband split. He had our family photos and would not let her have them. Years later, a neighbor saw him putting tons of boxes out for trash. He was able to rescue the photos and contact my dad. Thank heavens. We have very little family history
Oh my gosh how terrible for someone to want to destroy them and being so selfish not to return them back to the lady good grief but I am glad it has an happy ending Whew! People seems to forget the value of the photos and they are not by any means replaceable really!
Someone did this to my dad's photos. She just threw everything out. Horrible person. Regardless I've been able to trace part of that line back to the late 1400's Spain. I love genealogical research!
I made 2 photo albums for my grandmother when she was in a nursing home in Maryland. With all her old photos. Someone took the albums and all our old family photos were lost. This was 15 years ago and I'm still sick about it. I've always hoped someone would find these old photos and return them to my family. Loffler / Lain / Koontz / Faherty
Thank you. I used to think it was one of the nurses wanting the "new" photo albums. Then someone suggested to me that maybe one of the other residents could of taken them thinking they were theirs? Oh how I pray to that they'll come back. I always look at old photos At antique stirs!
Perhaps someone looking to make a buck or a couple hundred. I colorize old photos, I don't do it to the real photo, just in Photoshop. I've looked for some antique postcards suitable for colorizing and have come across old family albums selling in the 300-500 dollar range in antiques stores! It's a shame that someone's ancestors are being sold off like that, and who could afford to even get them back?! I hope you can find yours! The whole thing makes me very sad!
OK so I got this confirmed. This is my great grandfather's cousin. Does anyone know where the original photo is located? Can someone contact me with info so we could possibly get it please?
This popped up for me today - in 2021. Tracked her down only to discover she's been located already. So for those who see this after me, here's the findagrave site:
There is an Eva Marie Cummins born 25 Jun 1992 Walla Walla, Washington -died 2 Jun 1984 Tacoma, Washington.
She married twice: Keyser, Paddison.
It sure would be great to find out who this precious baby was.
Eva Marie Cummins Paddison's mother was Eva Margaret (Crowe) Pierce Cummins (1868 - 1943) and her father was Robert Beatty Cummins (1873 -1950). She had siblings Robert, Winnard, and Theodore and half siblings Martha, Leon, Lillian, and LeRoy.
When Eva was 17, she was living with her family in Culdesac, Idaho, and her father was a printer at a newspaper
Eva married two times, the first time to Walter LeRoy Keyser (1903 - 1946), a missionary for the Baptist Church. They were married in 1935 in Burma and they had one son, Jan Peter Keyser (1936 - 2019), who was born in New Jersey. She then married Arthur David Paddison (1882 - 1976).
Eva moved around a lot in her life, being born in Washington state, and growing up in Washington and Idaho. She attended college in Oregon and grad school in Berkeley, California. In between college and grad school, she taught school in Wrangell, Alaska.
After grad school, she became a missionary in Burma and married another missionary. Their son was born in New Jersey. Eva eventually returned to Yakima County in Washington state where she passed away.
