George W. Van Tassel & his Uncle Wiiliam Jerard left Jefferson Co. NY with their families after the Civil War & arrived in Juneau County, Wisconsin in October of 1867. This is a photo of George's 40 acre farm. 'After Grandpa died Aug 20, 1923, Grandma lived with us out on the farm. We had 9 cows, a few sows, a buggy & team, and chickens.' - grandson Glenn
