Michael Lewis C'mon - just plucking all of those feathers probably takes a LONG time! :) But I wonder if we know what a real turkey tastes like?

AncientFaces YES HERE FAMILY FROM DOWN SOUTH COME TO SHOOT DURING TURKEY SEASON AND WAS GOOD AND DEER HUNTING WE HAVE OVER 35 AT TIME OF TURKEYS COME TO OUR PASTURE, PINES AND 10 ACRES AND MANY STAGS AND DOE AND FAWNS,LOVE TO REST UNDER THE ROSE BUSHES AND TREES WE HAVE WATER FOR THEM AND APPLES BEAUTIFUL TO SEE GOD CREATURES AND LITTLE CRITTERS-

Did you notice it all man buying the Turkey's, no women. Today it is mostly women grocery shopping and buying the turkeys big difference in time.

Nothing wrong with knowing where your food comes from. Or the process it takes to get it from there to the table. A lot of people have no clue about any of this. Why I enjoy hunting, fishing etc. I know exactly where that venison etc came from and what had to happen to it to get in the freezer or on the table.

No, I would name them and they would be my pet. But, I do remember plucking feathers and cleaning the bird when I was a kid. Seems like they tasted better then.
