A photo of John C. Lavender, my Maternal Great Grandfather. John (Clark?) Lavender was born in 1827(?) in England and died in 1892 in the Town of Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. He was twice married. His first wife was Sabra Duell who may have died in child birth in August 1858. He then married his second wife, Mary Elizabeth Smith (my gt. grandmother) together they had 15 children which included 3 sets of twins. My maternal Grandmother, Lillian May Lavender was child number 14.

my mother has a photo like this of my great great great grand mah would you know where a these kinda photos are made?
All I know is that the photographer had some kind of machine that he would project the original image on then he was able to duplicate it with this being the end result. It was very popular back in the early 1900's. Many of the poor to middle class people were able to afford it instead of a professional portrait or painting.
