Johnson Family

Description:
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Oluf JOHNSON’S children including Jessie, Ivah, and Geneva JOHNSON. The photograph was taken in the early 1900’s with the three children likely about 4-7 years old at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph is of 2 girls and a boy with the boy appearing to be the oldest. There is no studio or location identified on the photograph though it was recovered in Washington State. I’m hoping to locate someone from this JOHNSON Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley

The Johnson children, circa 1908. Don't you love the girls' shoes?

My daughters wore shoes like these in the 70s but they went up to the ankle. These are very sweet but so many buttons!

So that is ribbon, not leather, up their legs? They're carriage boots?

The carriage boots are lovely but no it's these ones: [external link]

They had similar shoes (sold out) with flat soles and ribbons - no heel. I thought that maybe that's what they had on.

The eldest girl looks so sad and her brother also appears sad. This photo has a lot going on. More than meets the eye.

I'm not getting 'sad' either. Just bored, as stated earlier.

That's interesting! I've never seen that style in a children's shoe, although it was popular for beach shoes in the 20s.
