Karen enjoyed music! All kinds of music! From beautiful classical music to The Beatles, The Monkeys, and Even Tracy Chapman.. To beautiful church hymns. She loved to sing. She was in several chiors. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh! She loved to Garden! And go swimming at local pools and beaches! She loved & enjoyed her family!! She was of the Christian faith and a strong believer
Karen was a devoted & wonderful mother! She had one daughter, Elizabeth M. Strean (Mehaffy) and 2 Grandchildren, Drake A. Mehaffy and Karyn Renee Mehaffy. She loved her grandchildren very much!
She now has one great grandson Gadriel E. Martinez Gonzalez who she never got to meet. But would have absolutely adored!!
Karen was the daughter of Alvin Jackson Strean and Elizabeth May (Quayle) Strean and she had one Older sister Sandra Strean Ogden. And one younger brother William Strean.
She had many nieces and nephews. She loved them all very much! She often cared for her siblings children. The Strean family was very close and loved to do for each other. They were strong Christian family! They attended the First Christin Church in Burlington Iowa for many many years. Karen and Elizabeth later joined the First United Methodist Church in Burlington Iowa. They sang in chiors together.. And attended church most every sunday while she raised her daughter to have a strong faith!
Karen was ill with what we thought was the flu.. And or pneumonia. She passed away in her sleep at home November 27 2006. She is greatly missed and often thought of!
